Custom Reptile and Invertebrate Enclosures
WHAT WE DO
Blackwood Custom Exotics started to develop and design our own enclosures when, as reptile breeder and keepers we found our adult animals were getting to sizes and ages that required larger homes- and none were available locally.

Jon has 13 years as a red seal in autobody repair and painting, Tony has decades as a cabinetmaker and carpenter- those skills quickly elevated our enclosures to professional level, furniture quality show pieces!

MATERIALS:
All of our enclosures are birch, aspen, oak, walnut or maple- internally waterproofed with smooth, sleek food-safe epoxy and sealed with 100% silicone. External finishing is done using Saman brand eco-friendly, water-based stain and Polycrylic top coat. Our hand poured epoxy interior and sprayed stain/top coat exterior give a professional finish you won't find anywhere else. Enclosure doors are Lexan brand Plexiglass for a light, secure viewing window!

6. Determine pickup/delivery option that suits your needs. We allow pickup in Fredericton, NB and can make deliveries within the province or maritime bubble for a delivery fee, currently we're investigating shipping options.

STAIN COLOUR: Ebony, Coffee, Walnut

DOOR STYLE: Open upwards, open down, open to left, open to right (at 36Lx24H size enclosure and larger we offer split doors and sliding doors as well).
​
VENTILATION: Strips are cut in and our standard. We can do smaller or broader strips- size and species dependent.
​
CUTOUTS: we will cut out a circle or strip for your heat/light source. Larger enclosures have recessed areas under the floor to allow heat tape. For reptiles or amphibians requiring UVB lighting or overhead heat we can discuss installing wire coated mesh in the cutouts for a small extra fee.
