July is on "Lockdown"

Love is in the air over here at Blackwood Ball Pythons! Thanks to my Herpstat and whatever odds gods are watching, I have been able to stimulate an early? late? breeding season this year, hoping to get some eggs on the ground before 2020 is over. Locks don't guarantee I will have clutches to work with of course, but successive first shot locks are a good place to start.

2ND PAIRING: "Moose" 2013 1.0 Mojave (PB) x "Buffy" 2015 0.1 Queen Bee (Lesser Pastel Spider)

First lock for the pair was 06/26/2020, Buffy has since had a great shed and been hitting back rats like she's never going to see another so they were paired for a second time yesterday morning, 07/15/2020 and they've been locked since. I'll give them 2 days more and then watch her until after her next shed cycle. Hopefully she decides to give me a big can't-miss-that-one ovulation soon!

1ST PAIRING: "Tonka" 2018 1.0 Firefly ( Fire Pastel) x "Decima" 2012 0.1 Spider (PB)

Tonka looks pretty pleased with himself, this is his first season being paired with a female and i'm hoping I can make a proven breeder out of him. Decima has had 2 clutches previously, paired to a single gene pastel and the babies were stunners- bright as all get out. The goal here is to pass on some of Tonk's heavy contrast deep black and bright fire yellow to make quality Bumblebees/Firebees and hopefully throw a female Firefly of similar quality for my programs.

Anticipating 2nd Pairing for these guys in 3 weeks or so, once Decima goes through her next shed cycle. Fingers crossed guys!

Thanks for checking in, hope you have a great day and as always- feel free to message me with any questions and follow us on IG for day to day stuff at BWBP
